LEAPS have released our next iteration of our Scheme Operating Procedures for Controllers and Inspection Bodies of Theme Parks. For the first time, the ride categories have been developed from the historic industry standard of two to the version that LEAPS now follow of seven categories.
They are now based upon engineering complexity and risk and align with Inspection Body (IB) competence, thus reducing the risk of an inspector working beyond their qualifications, experience or ability. The IB classifications now align with the UK Specification for Engineering Competence (UK SPEC) and the professional registration titles as awarded by the Engineering Council UK which further professionalises the LEAP Scheme and raises the standard of engineering competence beyond anything previously seen in the industry.
LEAPS is accepting applications from competent IBs and Theme Parks that want to reduce their risk and join a value-adding scheme.
