5 Star Sites

From the 1^{st of} January 2024 any LEAPS member will be able to take advantage of our offer to become a LEAPS 5-star site. The way to join LEAPS will not change with the award of the first 3 stars by:

First star, self-certification of operation

Second star, self-certification of maintenance.

Third star using a LEAPS certified inspection body.

Fourth star, Asset Management.

Fifth Star, Operational Assessment.

The 3-star site is the standard for joining and already sets an operator apart from any operator that is not part of the scheme with the commitment to follow the LEAPS SOPs and use a LEAPS-certified IB.

For those members of LEAPS who would like to take their safety assurance to the five-star level, you can arrange a LEAPS operational assurance visit. The visit is designed to be a collaborative effort between LEAPS and the LEAPS site to assist, provide a third-party review, give recommendations, share knowledge/best practices, and give evidence to stakeholders that you are compliant with guidance, standards, regulations and any other relevant publications.

The visit will consist of pre-visit sharing of site documentation relating to your assets and the completion of an asset management questionnaire.

Following this will be a LEAPS visit to your site at a time of your choosing to review procedures and a deep dive into pre-agreed asset(s), with our safety attraction expert.

Finally, a report will be issued validating your site that can be shared with stakeholders to prove that you are managing your safety risks in the best way possible. You will also be advertised on our website as achieving 5-star status.

• The operation of a site is validated against HSG 175.
• Should an accident/incident still occur that results in a claim then this independent process will provide a significant contribution to strengthening a defendable position.
• Evidence to stakeholders that you are managing your safety risks.
